Has Christianity been wrong about Torah for 2,000 years? Pt. 2

(Please Watch The Video Down At The Bottom)

6. Does Romans 14 say we are free to ignore the Sabbath and dietary instructions?
-What is Paul trying to say? Read the whole chapter in context. There was an issue about differing opinions. Some believers are judging others because some eat meat and some don’t. He dealt with the same thing with the church and Corinth. The former Pagans who were weak in the faith didn’t know if the meat sold at the markets at that time had been sacrificed to idols. Some new-born Christians didn’t eat meat at all just to be safe.
-To judge each other about eating pork or not is putting word sin the Paul’s mouth.
-”Be convinced in your own mind about keeping the day or not keeping the day” Paul isn’t talking about the Sabbath but he is talking about Fasting. The Commandments of the Lord were never the actual issue. It was about differing opinions.

7. Why should we go back to the “shadows” aka Torah when we have the reality, aka Christ?
-The only way to get rid of the shadow is to get rid of the one casting the shadow. Example: Baptism doesn’t save you, baptism isn’t the death and resurrection itself. It’s just a shadow, symbolism. No Christian rejects the ceremony of being baptized.
-The Feast Days the the Sabbath point us to reality.
-Colossians 2:16, “Don’t let anyone judge you about the Sabbath.” In other words, don’t let anyone tell you not to observe the Sabbath. There were false teachers trying to teach the Christians NOT to keep the Sabbath, they worshiped angels and they hurt themselves. Why would Paul be preaching against the commands of the Lord when in Colossians 2:20 he asks why they are doing worldly things now that they are in Christ. “Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules?”
-Christians keep ceremonies all the time and we need to be consistent.

8. Wasn’t the Torah given only to the Jews?
-God’s laws are for all people, but do not pertain to every person.
-The strangers and sojourners had to obey God’s Law if they camped with them.
-Acts 15 is about how Gentiles need to be converted by Faith through Grace and didn’t have to go through rabbinic conversion to be part of God’s people. You don’t have to be physically circumcised to be saved, but in Acts 15:21, the disciples explain how they will receive instructions on the Sabbath in the synagogues..
-What you are really saying is that you are not allowed to love the Lord you God by keeping the Sabbath. There are no double standards.
9. Does the New Covenant do away with the Old Covenant?
-The idea that we have a new set of Commandments now under Jesus Christ is false. Jesus lived His life according to God’s law. Jeremiah 31:8 “New Covenant is made with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.” It doesn’t say that there is a new law, it says that He is going to write the Commandments on our hearts. That also in Deuteronomy 6 because it was God’s intention from the very beginning.
-Romans 8, Holy Spirit empowers us to keep the Commandments. Ezekiel 36:37, “And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”
-Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said He doesn’t even look at women with lust must less commit adultery. He wants us to be pure in heart.
-The New Covenant is meant to write the law on our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 36:27
10. How can following Torah impact your life?
-It will give you a deeper appreciation for the depth of God’s Word, it will give you ways that you can love God.
-Saturday isn’t just another day, it’s a spiritual day and it brings families together.
-You learn who you are worshiping, it puts a face on Jesus, giving you guardrails to protect you and keep you in God’s Way.

-Even the Feast Days are exciting and brings you closer to your King, worshiping Him in Spirit and in Truth.
