So, your daughter is with a boy you can’t stand. Your son
has un-preferable friends. The finances look grim. A loved one is sick. Your
job security is shaky. You and your spouse fight. The list can be endless in
regards to the things we fight on a daily basis. It is so easy to get caught up
in the negativity, worry, and seemingly hopelessness of everything. You get
angry. You get hurt. You get tired.
I’ve learned that all this is an opportunity to cry out to
God. You lost your focus so He tries to get you back. You need to experience
His love again. This doesn't mean that you are weak. This means that you are
stronger than you were before because you recognize that the enemy is allowed
to throw darts at you so that you can avoid them under the protection of The
Almighty and when you get hit, it’s an opportunity to let Him heal you.
His love is more powerful than anything we have ever seen,
heard or experienced on this Earth. He won't let you forget about Him because
He needs you more than you need Him. He loved you before you loved Him. He
thought of you when He created the Universe. Even when we feel Him at church,
we go back to our lives, working, taking care of children, laundry, cooking,
paying bills. We are held captive by the enemy in this world, however, He
conquered the world for you. Call out to Him in your heart. He killed himself,
nailed Himself on the cross to save you from the pit and gave you Heaven. It’s
free and it’s all yours.
You're going to worry about all these other things happening
in your life instead of lifting your face to the One who’s calling you? You
need to constantly seek Him in all that you do. When you pray in the morning,
don't end it with an “Amen.” Keep the conversation going all day and see what
happens. Pretty soon you'll recognize that He speaks to you through other
people, He will start opening your eyes to the blessings He’s giving you.
You'll have a light, a new outlook on life, a new you and other people will
notice. He will help you and give you new things to spread your light.
There’s no limit to The Everlasting. He is the Beginning and
The End, The Alpha and Omega, The First and Last. He can handle everything you
are going through and then some. Next time something hurtful or scary happens,
try to outdo the person or situation with love and honor. Don't look at the
other person or situation, look to God. If someone or something is negative, be
that much more loving and then turn up the volume. Make yourself look
ridiculous when it comes to loving and honoring one another. Make it a contest!
A good hearted contest of course, be competitive in love. “Be devoted to one
another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging
behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope,
persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,” Romans 12:10-12
